Chocolate date truffles

September 10, 2018

You can't go wrong with chocolate. Sometimes (or many times😄) chocolate is a life saver. I made this recipe for those times. It's really easy and quick, without flour and added sugar; and it's vegan, so most of the food allergies are out of the game. We like it a little bit bitter, but feel free to taste and add more dates. They are perfect with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate.

Maybe the cayenne pepper surprised you, but if you have some, don't forget to add a pinch. It gives extra flavour.

Ingredients
15 dates
1 tbsp coconut oil
1/2 tbsp cacao nibs
2 tbsp cacao powder
pinch of cinnamon
pinch of cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp salt

Soak dates in hot water for 10 minutes. Then add the soaked dates with all the ingredients into a blender and blend until you get a smooth texture. Make little balls with wet hands and coat them with cacao powder. Put them in the fridge at least 10 minutes.
